If 100+ titles weren’t enough, Microsoft is promising that every Microsoft Studios game going forward. That means upcoming exclusives like State of Decay 2, Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves and more will become available on release day. They’ll also be joined by titles we’re yet to see. “Future unannounced games from Microsoft Studios including new iterations of our biggest Xbox One exclusive franchises such as Halo, Forza and Gears of War, on the same day they launch,” said Xbox head Phil Spencer.
The Netflix of Games
It’s a huge commitment from the company, and it comes with more payment options. On March 20, retailers will begin to sell 6-month Game Pass subscription cards. Unfortunately, there won’t be a discount, but those planning to stick with the service can get one for $59.99. With this release, Xbox Game Pass gets closer to becoming the ‘Netflix of games’, and Microsoft is promising more great additions in the future. “We’ve only scratched the surface of the opportunity this new model brings to the industry and what we can deliver to our fans,” said Spencer. “We firmly believe Xbox Game Pass will be a catalyst to create new opportunities for game developers and publishers to innovate in the way games are developed and delivered, leading to entirely new ways to play.”
