Several Windows 10 features and integrations have been announced for Chrome since Microsoft joined Chromium. The reason for cross-browser integration is because both Microsoft and Chrome are now working on Chromium. We can expect to see Edge features land on Chrome, and Chrome features to come to Edge. So much so, at some point it may be harder to tell the two browsers apart. We are not there yet, but more Windows 10 tools are coming to Chrome. One potential new feature is support for Windows system styles for captions in a video. In a Chromium post titled “Add support for Windows system styling for captions”, Edge engineers propose:
Add 4 new properties to CaptionStyle. Adds a WindowsCaptionStyle class that extends CaptionStyle and adds Windows support for webvtt caption styling. Adds command line flag ‘–enable-windows-caption-style’ which is needed to run platform specific code.

Microsoft has plenty of other plans, including adding window opacity, window color, and background opacity. In another ChromeStory, Microsoft discusses using Chromium as a drag and drop target for Outlook.exe attachments: “Users should be able to drag email messages or email attachments out of Outlook.exe and drop them on a file hosting service website such as OneDrive or Google Drive, just as if dragging files from File Explorer.”
